Just woke up.

Yeah the turkey bounced in the middle of the last track... him, his crew, everyone with the track still playing. At that point I bounced immediately so I could grab a cab before 1,000 people tried to do the same thing.

I splurged for an "all you can drink" bracelet so I was upstairs... really NOT crowded upstairs compared to other nights because bracelets STARTED at $100 last night compared to most other nights when they are $20.

I'll be working on the tracklist and posting vids of IDs later on.

Alcohol - The Trainspotting Killer

Nice review though. I think Tiesto left early because of his past Atlanta experiences. At the height of his fame in 03/04, he got mobbed at Eleven50. He got mad and pushed the crowd back, and he was never the same again.

Had a really great night last night! Had a nice meal at Trois and was totally moved. Suprisingly the line into Opera moved a lot faster than usual, and it wasn't raining. YAY!!! I have spent many a nights standing in line in the rain so I am thankful for that.
Of course it made it even better going with some really great people who are totally positive and not at all dramatic and stuck-up. There is already a large concentration of those types of people (especially girls) so I don't like to add to it. It just sucks when people spill their drinks on you or cut you in the mile long line for the bathroom and they don't care. For some reason they feel they are entitled. hhhhmm....
Yeah I wasn't cool enough to have a "all you can drink" braclet. Acutally, I didn't even know that was an option or I SO would have done that! Sad. Well, it pretty much sucked down on the lower level it was just too crowded so we went out on the terrace which was filled with a buncha kids (I am serious they looked like they were 12 years old) doing extacy. Been there, done that. But it's cool. Personally, I thought that the music and energy was great but a bigger venue is needed! Anyone going to Oscar G in August? I am really not that familiar with his music but I will be checking it out here soon. Any suggestions? Will it be a good show?

Oscar G is more techno and house. His tribal sound might be fun but it is a lot drier than trance. BT, Steve Lawler and Blank & Jones, and Armin would be your best bets. Me and a couple of TAs will be at BT July 11th. We'll probably be reminiscing about the old school days if you like to join in.

Will be in San Diego (where I originate from) visiting friends and family. Thanks for the invite though. I am new to the scence and none of my friends prior to my trance addicition are fans so I basically end up going to shows alone or occasionally a friend of mine will come up from FL for the larger shows (like she did for Tiesto) but the smaller shows I don't usually go to for that sole reason. So, I am always looking to meet new people that I can learn from and to hang out with. Hope to see you around.

It wasn't nearly as crowded as I expected. With a little determination, it was still very possible to navigate the crowd and reach the front of the floor. To be honest, for the most part, I didn't mind the massive turnout for this show, as the enthusiasm was seriously intense. I wish I could help with the tracklist, but the chaos and exhaustion of the night made it difficult to ID or recall most of the songs, many of which were unfamiliar anyway. I do know that I really enjoyed the set.

Roland Darragh's warmup set was also good, building up toward trance around 11-11:30, but taking an unfortunate turn toward house shortly thereafter. Tiësto started right after midnight.

He did not play Fox Lulz (as anticipated earlier in the thread), which was a great disappointment. I might have to drop that one (after cleaning it up a bit) into my epic trainwreck trance set on Sunday at Midcity Cafe's open turntables event. Be sure to attend! It's bound to be at least 2% as awesome as last night's event, at an even smaller fraction of the cost.

I really enjoyed it! I saw him at Bonnaroo on the 14th and his set was a lot different. His mixing and set overall was top notch although I did like his Bonnaroo set better. I just didn't like how they roped off the elevated front stage. It was way too crowded for that.

Yeah, I meant to mention that. Considering that Opera usually open the stage to us plebs during these packed events, as they did for AVB, it's dumb that they'd reserve it for VIP during the Tiësto event, especially since the VIP area was so empty compared to other nights. Maybe that's good for revenue, but they should be able to create incentives for the overpriced VIP lounge without making everyone else miserable, right?

I don't know, maybe 100 would be worth it for the comfortable experience, but 275, no way. Was that up by the dj booth or the area across from it?

Anyways, sounds like it was a pretty good show besides being pretty crowded. Sounds like he probably played a lot of stuff I may not be familiar with, but he usually does a good job with track selection. Almost the whole ISOS 7 album was tracks I had never heard before.
