Sorry to dig up an ancient thread but I saw waking life a week ago and I searched for lucid dreaming and sure enough this place has a thread about everything. I have started to get into lucid dreaming since I saw the movie like a week ago and am making pretty good progress. Funny how often trance shows up, either me at a concert or me waiting for a record to get to my hosue. heh. I was wondering how everyone is coming along and also figured by digging up this thread I could introduce some others to the idea of lucid dreaming. I'll be trying to post my experiences here, I hope others do too!

Anyone here ever hear anything about shared dreams? *Supposedly* accomplished lucid dreamers can share a dream. In fact, there's an entire Tibetan religion (Bon) devoted to lucid dreaming. It's said that ALL of their dreaming is lucid (!).

Lucid dreams are EXTREMELy interesting, and relatively simple to make yourself experience, but the OOBE (from what I hear) is an absolutely fascinating life altering experience I posted a thread about it awhile back http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...ody+experiences

I have been trying various methods to project, but it requires an intense amount of concentration (difficult!) and ideal conditions. From what I've read, a fully conscieous OOBE is kinda like an INTENSE lucid dream that you can control. Also read about near death experiences as they are classified as OOBE's

ever since I read the first post about lucid dreaming I took intrest to it right away! I started to study and practice them...I am getting more frequent lucid dreams and it is really fun. Its amazing how there is a whole world about dreams, its really fasinating.

The weirdest are the pseudolucid dreams I've been having. My mind goes "hey I'm dreaming! But guess what... I'm not gonna become lucid... muahahaha..." I even remember this when I wake up. I usually have one or two lucid dreams a week, but man these piss me off :-P.

Before I start to lucid dream I think I need to actually remember my nightly dreams. On average I remember my dreams only once a month. Anyone know any techniques for remembering dreams (I don't want a ghetto dream book to write in either). I heard that if you scratch your head when you wake up that you forget your dream......

Haha your dream journal doesn't have to be "ghetto." A dream journal, as dorky as it sounds, is damn useful. Your intention to record something right after waking brings a sense of seriousness about things. Trust us on this one and try it.

Never heard the scratching your head bit. What I've heard and recommend is thinking back immediately upon realizing you're awake. Don't move a muscle or even open your eyes. Just think.

And remember, the key is you actually have to WANT to remember them, and not just pretend like you do...

Freaking sweet lucid dream the other night... I was drifting among the clouds, just lazily flying through them at my own gentle pace. And then some other stuff happened I won't write here

I hear that expert lucid dreamers actually engage in meditation and even self-hypnosis while in a relaxing lucid dream.

i used to be really interested in lucid dreaming. i saw this thing being sold on the net and in magazines that you'd put over your head before you go to sleep and it would let you control your dreams. it sort of looked like something you would put over your head if you were to go on some virtual reality ride. except, it said there could be some side effects. i wanted to try it but i wasn't sure how safe it was.

supposedly there are also certain rituals you can do before bed to help you control your dreams. stuff like relaxing your body, or lighting candles. i don't really remember. i always wanted to try it though.

The only lucid dream I had was where I was at school one lunchtime, and I realised in my sleep that I was dreaming. I remember telling my mates (in my dream, this is) that I was asleep and dreaming all of this. They were like "Yeah, so what?" and I was like "Mmm, just thought you should know!"

It was so weird. Definately an experience i'd wanna do again tho (somehow)
