Psy isn't dead... it just became what is now called Zenonesque (basically psychedelic techno), and forest psy (psy with pulse/triangle-based basses and an excessive amount of squishy noises and reversed frog sounds).
At least, if the scene in WA/OR is to be believed. rofl
Am rather fond of Australian psy myself. Not so much Terrafractyl, but guys like Mr. Peculiar and Namarrkon have been inspirational to me. Do love me some Electric Universe, older Infected Mushroom, and Juno Reactor though. And practically everything off Ovnimoon Recs these days.
...And I was digging the shit out of psy back when I was a teetotaling Christian Scientist. Several years, and numberous Trips later, I think psy is even MORE awesome, but drugs aren't necessarily a requirement for enjoying any particular genre. Though they can certainly make the experience a little more... exotic???
