Definitely not. How often do you actually go, because from reading reviews and roll calls, it does not seem like very often.

It mainly depends on the DJ playing, and if they bothered to tweak the sound the way they want. Yes, usually during MO's sets, the bass and volume are too high. But, the good headliners will make sure the sound is good.

Rank 1
I got into the club around 11:45 he was just starting
what can you say about this guy he alway's put's on a
great show his set was not bad everyone was enjoying it
and having a good time for a long ass nite.. He played a few
of my fav tunes like And Then Chakalaka.. He's set was not up
to pair in my book i guess it had to do with opening up so early which i
understand. When he played Marco V - Coma Aid
i never heard this track in a club be for and i have say WOW
such a huge tunee..

Gareth Rmery
Holy shit this guy right fucking here was incredible
his set was just amazing this was my second time
seing him i saw him a few month's back in Miami for WMC
so i new im going to enjoy his set...The track's he played wow Vampire
gareth emery Remix, blueprint, his mixing was just
sick the guv need's to bring him back really soon... Whe he
drop Formentera What the crowd just whent one of my
fav tune's was hoping he would play Metaverse oh well
there's alway's next time... I got to chat with him after
he was done i ask him so what do you think of the guv he's like
fucking awesome i really love this place can't wait to come back ....

Thx Gareth

Menno De Jong
He played a good set but did not like some of the tracks he
played like As The Rush Comes, Apologize svd bootleg mix, which
i hate omg what a shit tunee.. But he played some nice
classics binary finary, Saltwater, circa forever, etc etc...
The track that got me pumped from his set was madagascar
richard durand remix, he also played marco v coma aid
after hearing Rank 1 playing this track i'm like holy shit what a fucking choooon...
I enjoy Menno's set this was my 3rd time seing him i always have a good time...

Thx Menno

Jennifer Rene
I been waiting a long time to see her play at the guv i was soo excited
let me just say that i dont give to shit's what you guy's have to say about
her and her set she played awesome luved the opener fine without you.
BIG FUCKING DEAL if she's signing as she's djing don't see anything wrong
with that so get over it. The mixing was off a little bit when she played the
second track but after that everything was on cue. Another thing every dj
has some sort of style that make's them feel comfortable and feel the energy of
the crowd. If that's her style then so be it i don't see why you guys are complaining.
Because all dj's have their own signature! like Armin's famous air plane pose etc etc.
Rene was having the time of her life great big smile most of the nite hand's in the air
which i don't see the problem in that she was really excited to play at the guv.
Anyways i dont want to get into a huge deal about her performances everyone
has there own opinion's. As for me i luved her set she killed it <3 <3 <3 the track's she
played where awesome 8 Wonders - eventuality, in out of love, richard durand remix,
perfect agnelli and nelson remix, <3 <3 speed the perspective space markus schulz mashup,
helsinki scorchin alex morph remix, sean tyas -lift
I was really happy with her set she did a fantastic job...

Thx again Jennifer

It was awesome seing everyone again
Veronica glad you made it out bc you would of miss a really good party
Nada GREAT seing you again we always have loads of fun when were partying wooot luv ya <3
Del was nice meting you my friend

Jennifer trainwrecked her first transition. HORRIBLY. I was truly in disbelief... I mean, I've heard the stories and all, but to actually be in Guv and witness a trainwreck that terrible coming from an international DJ was really quite shocking. I guess I shouldn't have been surprised.
She trainwrecked about 40% of the time, I think

She trainwrecked several times. Very noticeably. I'm not talking about a tiny gallop in the kicks; we're talking full-on desynchronized beats that she had a hard time fixing. She trainwrecked the first transition horribly, did OK for a few, trainwrecked again, I went to the acid lounge for a bit, came back, heard her screw up again, went and got my coat, she trainwrecked again right before I left... :P

as soon as "apologize" came on, it was a sign that my night was supposed to come to an end. lol

for some reason, that song gets under my skin every single time i hear it.

but hey...apparently 99% of the club loved it.

She did mess up the first transition, but the rest weren't bad, I've certainly heard MUCH worse! Honestly I thought she did a great job, being the closer, especially at the twilight zone hour is much tougher than most people know. You have 3 DJs before you play all the banging stuff, especially after Menno literally destroyed the floor, so that's a tough act to follow up.

The room emptied? Surely being that it was 5am and that majority of the people were most likely there to see Rank 1/Gareth/Menno, yeah doesn't come as a surprise to me

What I want to know is what do you all of you people think of the techier trance remixes of 'classic' tunes? It's getting out of hand imo, unless it's done really well which is typically not the case from what I'm seeing. I think there's just an overabudance of them done every year to suit the 'in' style at the time. That just bites...

Whatever happened to playing your own 'style' (and that does NOT mean all of your tracks in one night, this goes for even my fav djs...) but also throwing in the occasional classic from way back when as a highlight to your set?

It's like djs (more so trance djs in the past few years imo) seemed to have lost the will to work a crowd and instead just play crap for their entire set...

complacency

most trance djs and producers see what the majority of current trance fans like, and keep playing and producing similar crap

i find very few trance djs are pushing for originality and creativity
and the tunes that are different from cookie cutter trance, it doesn't sell, so no decent producer will take a shot making those tunes

as for the remake of classics, bah. most of them are terrible
