I think intensive piggery might be a better description if you've ever seen one. Lots and lots of big fattie mummy pigs crammed into little cages so they can only walk backwards or forwards, with lots of squealing piglets running hither and thither underfoot.

It smells intensely like sweat, urine and poo to the point you need to burn your clothes after!

Fairly certain that the airline practice is there for the latter reason, (that and the privilege of not having your toes nibbled on by piglets) but at some point if the fatties take over the airlines they might have to install crush cages under the seats so you can put your kids in them. Just in case a passenger rolls over or lies down and doesnt mush them.
