ableton's great, but the more you know what you're doing the better the result that comes out of it will be.
But that's not all...
-Always hit the high quality button
-record at 32 bits,render at 32 bits
-don't move or automate the volume sliders
-don't apply any groove
-dont warp or fade, or transpose or detune

I think you got yourself the wrong gender there .

interestingly enough i have none of the same problems in Logic with the same setup (and yes, i did fiddle a LOT with all the settings for that in ableton)
As said before, why would you want to record and monitor yourself at the same time? I don't know your setup, but if you have a mixer, you can monitor yourself thru that.
But if it's a real problem, why not record in Cubase/Logic and edit in Ableton. The quality of the vocal recorderd depends on the A/D converters of your soundcard, not the DAW.
I've download the trial version of Ableton yesterday to see what all this fuss is about, and it actually got me excited (I'm a die hard Cubase user). I think Ableton is very nice for quickly creating some ideas. I haven't even closely finished a track in Ableton, so I don't know how that's like. But for the sake of it, I'm relying on Cubase.

You apparently can't really get pirated software for mac
police my @$$. you do what you want, and it's none of my business after all. But if you release music every now and then, I am sure that you will end up buying the software too, right? :-)

Nah I agree with you man, its just its the second time I noticed you asking someone if they'd actually bought stuff. I think you also asked why someone was still running live 7.01 somewhere else, which is why you're now designated: The Official TA Piracy police.

Do you go to the grocery store and randomly stuff shit into your pockets. I think not.
