Look, I'm not even into tons of disco-ey stuff, but I like this mix. That said, the mixing was kind of shoddy, and I'd expect better standards from those of you that actually do DJ. There were a couple of big trainwrecks in there and there's no excuse if you're doing a studio mix for wide publication.

You're enjoying that ever since you got it eh? Really fun toy.

I did too for awhile, but compared to newer toys like Traktor, that thing is piece of shit.

And back to Jamie using turntables, didn't read all the posts but looping could've been done with traktor or serato, but as Jamie proved that isn't always necessary. I actually find myself getting too carried away with the looping feature now days.

Still haven't given this a listen...slacking.

Jamie uses Traktor and vinyl btw, not sure how much of this is Traktor and how much is vinyl. I've been jamming to this in my car all week, where are you guys noticing trainwrecks? Am I just biased because he thought I was Baaz, thereby making me cooler for the 3 seconds it took someone to correct him?

Facken Clovis

And I'm pretty sure the guy that mentioned the trainwrecks doesn't know what a trainwreck actually is.

I mean, yeah, some of the transitions are those quick mixes, but with some of these older house records that's just how they were made, that was the way to mix back then.

The mix into Swayzak - Love Stronger was almost non-existent. The one where they had to put "Essential, Essential" all over it near the end was another, though I can't pick it without listening through the whole thing. There's another one around 1:40 where the whole flow dies, then shifts. Maybe it is a function of the record, but you can always cut the track short for the sake of flow.

Like I said, I liked the mix, I just think I'd have liked it more if the mixing weren't so shoddy in spots. I put it on for someone else this week at home because I said she should listen to it and she's fairly discerning when it comes to DJing/mixing and after that first mix, she looked at me and was like "WTF was that." I had to switch to the James Talk mix from a few weeks earlier.

And yes...I don't know what a trainwreck is...

I might not DJ, but I go out pretty often as most in NY that know me will tell you. When you compare someone who mixes genres all over the place like Danny Howells and does it fairly seamlessly, the mixing is suspect here.

BTW, I don't even listen to trance anymore, but you're welcome to your ill-informed opinions of my taste.
