Most people should realise that trolling is absolutely necessary in situations such as this.

OT, I agree though macbooks are seriously overpriced, even if the s screen are nice, look good and they do work well. PC's laptops are still way better value in terms of fucntion and perfomance.

The mac pros are great in terms of performance but still to expensive but for just over a grand, the imac is just fucking great all over.

Great combo of power, design, screen, small footprint, connectivity and most importantly price.

I've chukced EVERYTHING I could have at it over the last 18 months and it has been flawless and producing (along with the running of a business, downloading, graphics, video streaming etc.) has been a joy.

Logic truly reignited my passion for making music and the more I learn it, the more I get out of it.

I don't think that for £1100 you can get a better designed, more powerful (OS and apps considered), and quieter machine than an imac.

It's probably the best purchase I've made in years and can't see me buying another computer for probably 5 more years.

As for XP - I just had to track down a copy of XP and was not easy. MS is NOT shipping XP anymore and at least in mainland Europe you cannot special order it. They may still supporting it but soon, you won't be able to get a copy of XP and you certainly will not be able to buy a compouter with it preinstalled.

Oh, and anymore thinking to install vista with that XP downgrade: STAY THE FUCK AWAY. It absolutly kills the performance of your PC.

the 13" macbook pro! u can easily upgrade RAM and HD and its portable. and it looks fantastic. my god i love it so much, its the best non-discount buy i ever did. watching porn is suddenly alright again, if theres something nasty going on for a few seconds just look at the machines design for a while.

i have only three complaints:
wish the DVD-rom was Bluray with Dual Layer support.
the Displayport shouldve been HDMI, with included sound.
powercable shouldve been black.

The iMacs are decently priced. Dell sell similar all-in-one solutions and they're only marginally more expensive than Dell. Apple will introduce a price drop on the next range too, 7% so I read. The laptops and towers are way over-priced.

Didn't know the Macbooks had keys missing, seems like an odd thing to do. I use the Logitech Mac keyboard which has everything on it plus lots of programmable buttons. Never been keen on Apple keyboards and the mouse is shit.

As for EFI-X, read THIS before investing your hard earned.

i dont think 1000USD is so expensive for a great laptop. comparing with PCs at that price u dont really get any better specs. u only get a uglier heavier chunk of a laptop with a little bigger HD.

That's not true. I just went laptop shopping and even though the macbooks look nice and have great screens, nearly every laptop manufacturer has a competing machine at the same price point or less and some of them have increduble design and way better perfromance.

For instance, for the same price as the mid priced macbook you can get quadcore PC laptops with 15inch screens which aren't bulky.

In terms of where your money is going, the macbooks are slightly more about design and the towers (pro) more about performance. Depending on which one of those is important to you, the cash can be worth it.

For me I need a powerfull and inexpensive allrounder so the imac fits.

The bottom line is you have to be happy with what you buy - I don't really like the keys on macbooks but find the design OK aesthetically but it's not going to make part with hard earned as they are not as good value as the imacs and I don't really like producing on a laptop.

well at least in Norway Dell, HP, Lenovo etc laptops are quit expensive. While Macs is almost the same price here as it is in the US, its quit weird because everything else is like 1/2 of the price in the US compared to Norway. Maybe its Apple policy to have a worldwide price, and then I understand its expensive for US-people. When I was looking for laptops this summer there was no doubt at all though and ive never been any more happy with a non-discount buy ever. I dont think ive ever bought anything else without a discount though.

New white macbook avaliable at 999USD today...
2,26GHz, 2GB RAM, 250GB HD. The choice should be even easier now.
Now the cheapest macbook has better specs (bigger HD) than the smallest macbook pro?
Whats pro about it now haha? I bet the Pro is gonna upgrade the CPU soon.
