I'm pretty sure the "exclusive" clause in their UMF contracts just stipulates that they can't promote anywhere else under that name which is expressly stated in the contract. This is just a marketing ploy drawn up in order to increase ticket sales to UMF. They figure that declaring djs as "exclusive" to UMF will bring in those people hoping to just see a particular dj elsewhere. It's been happening for a few years now, but seems to be more prevalent this year. The djs are pretty adept at gettting around this, though, by using aliases or showing up as "suprise guests". For example, Carl Cox does this every year, even though he is always listed as an exlusive artist. I would think that a dj would never sign a contract if it stipulated that they couldn't even show up at a party the rest of the week, unless he/she wasn't planning on doing so anyway. In the case of A&B, though, I'd take up bets with anybody who thinks they wouldn't show to an Anjunabeats party. That name, in itself, has come to mean those guys, and I think it would be fair of them to assume that the fans would understand this. I wouldn't expect a live set, since the UMF flyer doesn't read exlusive "dj" set, though it would be cool. I would just expect them to show up and do their thing in the prime slot as usual. They seem to be pretty fan friendly, and I'm sure they can imagine the backlash reaction of people if they didn't play. Also, as this whole thing with UMF creates disdain for the festival, the word will get around to the djs themselves and something will be done about it in the future. As for now, let's just get pumped for Anjunabeats. I think it's going to be a great night because, as of right now, no other trance is scheduled that night. There were several last year.
So, last I checked, they only confirmed artists (through their own pages) are:
Tyas
Emery
Gabriel (12-1am)
Roth
I don't know about you guys, but I'm growing tired of rumors....
Any updates???
