you really need to learn the importance of creating a triangle with you and the 2 speakers

that also looks pretty damn far away for some small near fields

1. no i doubt they will play loud and sound good at the same time, but i think they handle it so they wont break, they seems to be pretty serious shit build wise. i can hook up my sub when theres a party.

2. this is not how its going to be when i buy a desk. this is just how they are placed at the moment, and im sitting on the floor right in front of them to test them lol. I might put them on the stands i used for the yamahas to get wider sound and a better triangle + height for my current sitting position but as im supposed to sit at a desk im not sure i bother right now.

edit: did some testing now, they do actually play rather loud, but they get abit harch. might be better/soften up after they have been used a while though.

Don't worry, those little puppies are built like tanks, but they do get a bit screachy when you max them out. I'm glad you found a solution but I think in the very long term, maybe when you have a new place, and you've got a studio area or at least decent listening position, you're going to be hurting for monitors that have better bass response.

I know you've got the sub but......me hates them subs.

i probably wont have a dedicated room for many years as i plan to stay in the city a while (if not forever), so I hope my mixes will translate well using these. i fucking love the sound already at the same time as i discover new details in my reference cds and mp3s. when i move (next fall probably) the production desk will most likely end up in the bedroom so there wont probably be use for bigger monitors then either, or maybe a step up to the 8030 or focal cms50 or even solos. at that point im anyway gonna get a decent pair of floorstander hifis in the livingroom for second control and regular listening, like some serious Tannoy DCs and maybe even do the final mixdown there (use the hifi as mains). as this is a hobby it should be enough, atleast im happy now.
