I would like to see an interview where a fresh faced techno artist says he liked sasha and digweed, tiesto, etc. and just ended up liking techno, because I'm sure it's happened.

I'm also amazed at how much time they spend to get an authentic sound (solely for the sake of being ironic).
Brauer says: "You could hear people talking and then someone would sshh them!" "It can be really boring when people have too much respect," says Frick. "A bit like the half-intellectual German techno scene." But don't the Germans take their techno very seriously? "Too seriously." they chorus. "That's the problem," said Brandt. "Apart from the Panorama Bar in Berlin, everywhere you go outside Germany you can hear more interesting music on the dancefloor."
But is BBF's music ultimately about dancing and having fun, or is it for listening? "We absolutely don't want to decide what it's for," says Frick. "It's both," says Brandt. "If I were the crowd," he continues, "I would be listening but I would move slightly!"

I went to a night a few month back that was "inspired by David Mancuso" and "in the spirit of The Loft", hoping to hear some disco rarities. It was just plodding techy house re-edits all night. I fell asleep on a sofa.

isn't that the truth, though.
no different than sewing band stickers on a vest.
I can't fucking STAND it when a night is advertised as disco or 'paradise garage' or something, and I go and they're playing shitty nu-disco and ableton edits of obvious classics. Happens pretty often in the city.. I don't know if it's a global thing, or just like an NYC pride/faux-heritage claim but there are an awful lot of disco 'themed' parties.

I kind of like that first tune in the video.
I think it's a commentary on how people listen to the music, the sets, the speakers, instead of experiencing. As in, we over-analyze instead of enjoying.
