oh and about the planets lining up pkc you should probably check the nasa website, those other times are considered partial heliocentric alignments. 2012 is supposed to be the first total allignment in several millinia if ever. 1982 was close and there was one that was a bit farther off in 2000. Is this what you meant by every decade or so?
Also, they've made a very interesting computer program based of the I-ching which has had some pretty cool results check into that as well.

I never said that the planets lining up was going to cause natural disasters. Remember Indiana Jones when he lined up the ruby on the staff with the sun and the secret on the map was revealed. Yeah, something like that. When the planets align the secrets of the universe and the end of our civilizations will come to pass.
