Is there any truth to it though? Does the person have to actually have faith in it, or believe it will help them, if they take the meds? Somehow I believe it is, for you speak of addiction and not knowing how to cope without them. But if the person believes in the effect of the pill and feels better because of taking them, are they addicted to the substances OR simply the fact that it is a pill and by god, it is THAT medication that has helped them, while they could be taking placebos, believing that it is the same med and still feel better and relaxed?

It’s a pity they can’t prescribe “don’t be a fucking moron” pills.

Did you really just do the internet equivalent of “no, YOU are!” ?

FYI the efficacy of SSRIs and other anti depressants is well established in the literature, including the impact of various chemicals on dopamine levels and neurotransmitters. If you’re gonna ask stupid as fuck questions, at least have given the idea 5 seconds of reading beforehand yeah?

well now you have illustrated your point so it's all good, the thing is I don't know much about medicine so I wouldn't even know what to look for and English isn't my 1st language so I don't know all the specifc vocabulary.

Oh right, sorry I missed the English second language thing. My apologies.

So yes, the placebo effect can and does improve the effectiveness of drugs, but no you don’t have to believe an antidepressant will work in order for it to work. but they wont necessarily work for all people.

what were you trying to address with the SSRIs ? There are also newer SNRIs. These types of medication should usually be piggy backed with therapy. That typically gives the best results especially for milder cases which i think most people taking them have.

Considering the half life you mentioned at its lowers value of 18 hours, well consider first what a half life is and then realize why 48 hours is typically not really long enough for your body to go in full rebound.

The main point is that taking benzos regularly will create a physical tolerance. Just like opiates. That isn't up for debate. How you dealt with it is anecdotal and not very logical a basis for making wide spread assumptions for how others should be able to deal with it.

Sorry, I must have created a bit of confusion - "that shit" refers to what had been said a post earlier - I don't like it at all when people tell me "oh how can you be so dumb" without pointing out exactly what the dumb thing was.

See previous quote of withdrawal symptom occurring in 18-44% of people and then remove head from ass. I never said other people should be able to deal with it as easily as I did, I just said your idea of "all people who regularly take benzos and then stop go through withdrawal" is wrong and stupid, like much of what you say.

I also think you're confusing the word tolerance with dependence.
