OKAY review: over crowded towards the half way point of sasha's set and beyond. many douche bags and dummies.
lee foss was better than expected but still not my cup of tea. when sasha came on it sounded like a breath of fresh air, but he slowly started to get very generic, tech-housey. he played a bunch of alan fitzpatrick tracks that were pretty good, but for the most part it sounded like your typical drumcode. almost like he was playing into dettmann, but not a true warm up. I'm almost certain he played a bit of twilo thunder into some drumcode beat- i was so sad as i almost lost my mind. dettmann comes on, with an intro track. and then.... straight madness. it was a reminder of the underground stage from movement. as many germans do he dropped some planetary assault systems. PAS - arc. god that song is a fucking quake when it comes on. i also think i heard alexander robotnick - running about, or a song VERY similar. to date dettmann was my fav island set edging out papa sven. the one gripe i had for dettmann's set wasn't with marcel at all. the volume sounded like they turned it down quite a bit. gah... if half those songs were played out at full volume that island would sink.
i saw a girl collapse in the ferry line and had to be carried out on the way out, plus the ambulance rushing to dat water taxi with a few others. these flower power ravers fucking up shit for everyone but, i believe this will be my last electric island, and it was a positive one ! dettmann is a boss.
ugh man these island parties have so much potential. i MEAN fuck why not book floorplan/robert hood over LEE FOSS ? or a ben klock over a beyer. or a hernan or digweed over sasha ? or why not even shut the music off while seth troxler players ( yea I'm hating on him)
