ok, I guess Ill write a review for Del while he recovers. Del and his 2 friends Jeff and Will met up with me at around 4:30 PM on Friday. We unpacked and decided to do a bit of drinking before the dinner meet-up ;-) So we went out and picked up some beer, some red bull, and some vodka and chilled out till about 8:30. We then headed over to Sbarros for some shitty food and some shitty people lol j/k The people were cool, but the food was still shitty, but big thanks to John for getting us all together like that. Anyways, most of the people didnt know who me and Del were because we werent wearing name tags and we kinda chilled on the far end of the row. I had on a 'Global Gathering' T-Shirt so I guess now people will know who I was hehe. Sbarros was cool and seeing everyone there was awesome. We left Sbarros around 10:30 to head to Roxy to pick up our tickets and it took us about an hour to snag a cab so we wound up getting to Roxy at 11:45 and the line was already insane so we decided to just wait in line and go in when we got our tix. We got inside around 12:15 and ran into a few people I knew from Sleazydreamer (Raven, Twilochik ) and then we proceeded to head to the lounge in back to relax and have a few drinks before PVD came on. Luis Diaz played a decent set, much better than at Factory. Then at around 1:45 I heard the cheers and I knew PVD was in the booth so we headed out to the bar area only to hear the 1st bars of Taub 2002 come on. Thats when I knew it would already be better than his set at Factory. Ive never seen so many people jumping in unison before with giant smiles lighting up the room, throw in the laser and it was just amazing. I thought PVD played a decent set except for his delve into Electro for about 45 minutes which resulted in 2 trainwrecks and a bad cut (stick to trance buddy) Im glad I stayed till the end too because I got to hear both sides of Taub when he dropped the orig towards the end, and of course who can forget when he dropped Animation (Suzann) what a fabulous track. I met so many people that I cant even list them here because I would have to buy a new keyboard after, but I will give some shoutouts to MIzz, Richie, expo, arturo (you freak), scott, excelon, del (of course), Daphna (the b-day girl ), Orit, Dovid, Seth, Sasha, Melissa, Tom, Matt, John, All the TDot'ers (you know who you are), The RivaDivas, Dahippie, Rory, Sot, Max, and whoever else I missed. It was an insane night and going to sleep at 10:30 am didnt help lol. NOr did waking up at noon Im sure Del will elaborate on the rest of the night for me because Im too tired to type the rest.

Well having debated coming to NY for weeks I am glad that our group made the trip down... It was brutal getting up so early for the drive but it wasn't so bad because everyone was hyped about the weekend.
Got there at about 4pm and realized aggressive driving/cutting ppl off/dodging jaywalking pedestrians was the norm - always fun. With Redeye's help we managed to find free parking closeby so I wouldn't have to touch the car all weekend.
Next up we get some booze, red bull and then cab it down to Sbarro. Head downstairs and see a small group but it slowly grew as the night went on (although the pizza at that place was bleh)
We arrived at Roxy pretty early so it gave us a chance to see the whole venue while it was still pretty bright in there. The sound was spot-on for 90% of the night and I wouldn't change anything about layout except maybe the location of the laser.
Enter PVD with Taub 2002 as an opener and the crowd starts to come to life (by this time it was pretty packed)... Very early on in the set there were tons of people jumping, making noise, hands in the air, etc - the vibe was definately there. There have only been a handful of times I have experienced seeing so many people being vocal/dancing to the music/jumping around once the beat came in. It was refreshing. I hate crowds that are dead - standing around waiting for something to happen that rarely does. In comparison, it made some of the other parties I've been to this year look like the crowd was on life support.
It was nice to meet a whole new group of people from the site - especially when you've seen their pics around before. Props to John for putting an effort in to organize the meetup - You totally went nuts at one point in the night with those orange glowsticks, unreal.
The music... oh man.. I was LOVING it.. It was relentless - the beats just kept on coming and the variety was there. All weekend I kept wondering what the hell that track was (Emmanuel Top - Turkish Bazar) - I searched for this in mp3 like mad earlier this year but the name escaped me until I finally saw the tracklist late last night. The last time I saw him in Toronto (10.10.01) he was awesome, but it was a short set -- Friday night was more complete and since he played some harder stuff it totally made my night... The electro was ok but it would've been better if he slipped Connector - Interference in there somehow.
Shoutouts to Ian (Thanks for everything from the crew & I - we'll be back (with rev this time), Mizz (Tata Lovah), Richie (Pillar), Arturo the jumping giant, Taub, Devantes (da porkster), Scottt, Ruby'n Roxy Diva(s), Twilochik, ExcelonGt, Drizzt, s0t, Daphna, jdat,Shann0n, butterfly, the ToTAs (Itikia, Stereoprincess, Halo20, Durafei, et al...) AND everyone else I must have missed
"Come on ... Dance with me ... Move your body ..."
So good.
....We'll do it again soon.
