That goal against Japan might be my favorite for elegance so far.

The second Messi goal against Austria (where he was damn well going to get it in the back of the net even if it meant kicking through the defender's shin, lol) wins in the category of sheer bloody-minded determination.

It may not have been elegant, but for sheer violence, I think Pape Gueye's second goal for Senegal today was my favourite so far. Nothing warms the guts quite like a loose bouncing ball getting absolutely leathered on the half volley.

Good thing I'm swamped with work this weekend, so I can enjoy the broadcast as white noise while I grind. Nightmare scenario here due to Portugal playing in Toronto during the knockout stages. Lots of Croatian in the city as well but if I were them I would just go into hiding
