clubbing experiance.. i dont really care about. but the point is ive seen tiesto lots and lots of times (at least 15) over the last two years (at one point it was every two weeks when he was GC resident) and hes only really played as if he is the worlds number one 2 or 3 of those times.

do u see my point now?

and mikey is right. this is a thread about NEC, not whether tiesto is shit or not.

so lets stop it here

If we compare how tiesto was Then and Now, i am sure u would see a diffence in his style.

So he plays a more complete set with Prog now? Obviously that makes him better! Tiesto was going with the trend to try and attract more people to his fan base, i.e get more prog people to listen to him more. However, i think he failed becasue

1) he didn't incorporate prog into his sets very well, thus dissastisfying both sets of fans (Trance and Prog)

Interesting.. If he dissatisfied both sets of fans, than his popularity must have decreased? Weird. I thought he won #1 spot in DJ Mag - a popularity contest for DJs? Who was voting for him then?

Also a musician doing things for money is fine, however, in the current light of recent events, apparantly you may have to pay $500 just to see Tiesto on NYE which is shameful. I find that u are inclined to agree.

Dude, do you know how expensive New York is on NYE? I'm 100% positivie that Tiesto is not getting more than 40USD out of every ticket sold.

And i was a fan of tiesto. He played some great sets at great festivals in the year 2000-2001. His tiestosolo tour was fantastic, many UKTAs will agree, since he came to the UK for one leg of the tour. Sets from Dancevalley, Trance Energy, Hyperstate etc ARE fantastic. Surely u can see that his performance is not what it was.

The guy has changed. His style is different. Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it's worse. On the contrary, it must be better, as he has way more fans now than 2 years ago.

New fashion? He's been with crasher all the way. The reason most Hardwick fans are from the UK is because he hardly plays abroad. Any idea why Tiesto is so popular outside Holland? A few years ago he was huge in Holland but everybody else hadn't even heard of him, he was just the other one in Goryella. But he spent two years playing abroad, and a huge portion of last year building his name in the UK (played over 50 gigs I think). Do you think he'd be worlds number 1 DJ if he'd stayed in Holland most of those two years? Of course not, but he'd still be the same DJ. So maybe that explains why

a) Being voted #1 in DJ Mag means fuck all
b) Matt Hardwick doesn't have so many fans outside of the UK

You've heard his essensial mix & you've seen him twice, you can't really base an opinion on that. I can think of at least 6 times I've seen Tiesto and been unimpressed, so I could say he's shit. But I've seen him play amazing sets too. So I can safely claim that yeah, he does need to work on his consistancy (same can be said for Jules, though he's shite more than good).

As has been said, Hardwick is consistantly good. Every time I see him he never disappoints.

So there.
