Unfortunately, history doesnt have to always repeat itself. Stop using that as a way to validate our argument. Just so you know, the Iran/Iraq war, the gulf war, and the horrendous sanctions that have been imposed on this nation has hurt the people more than Saddam. It has also made it very weak economically and militarily. Therefore, i dont think he would have even the resources to attack another surrounding nation in order to take over it.

quote:

Actually, that doesn't answer my question. In fact that is such complete bullshit. If you think that Bush is a "threat against humanity", then you must think that France, Germany, Russia are also threats against humanity if Saddam ends up killing millions of Iraqis. After all, they would be indirectly responsible for the deaths of millions of innocent people (or atleast, it would make them an accessory to a threat against humanity). I ask you this question again. How do you suppose that the world should go about deposing Saddam?

If you havent seen the recent TIME polls... an overwhelming amount of the international population beleives that the US... which is curently run by someone who cheated his way into office...see the US as the biggest threat to the world. I think you have been grossly misinformed about the other Atrociities that this nation has commited throughout this century. In fact, the US is the only nation to be charged with terrorist crimes against civilians by the international court of Justice during the Nicaragua attacks in the late 80's.

How else would we get rid of Saddam.. the same way they got Melosovic... by attacking his compounds and capturing him that way.

1) History is a very effective way of predicting future trends. Saddam has attacked other countries in the past. Saddam has killed thousands of his own citizens in the past. Saddam has defied the internation community in the past. Do you think that he has learnt from his mistakes? DO you think he is some sort of living saint? he still tortures and kills his own people. He still would have no problem attacking other countries (Kuwait has already been fired at and he has no problem attacking Isreal). Obviously sanctions really affect the civilians because Saddam gets his way all the time (that didn't make sense beacause i'm tired..oh well)But you should be thankful for these sanctions. No sane Iraqi will stand up and support a man who has fucked them over for the past 10+ years (like I said before, leading them into more than one war that they lost badly). The war will be over quite quickly. Compared the the military of the states, Iraq is no match but to other countries in that region, Saddam is a definite, viable threat.

2)Please don't ever say that Bush cheated his way in cause he didn't and people who say that or something like that are ignorant and retarded. If you don't like the Electoral College system then go to Capitol Hill and try and do something about it. He won the election fair and square. Also, do you think that the US is the only country that has committed war crimes? Hm...let's make a list of other ones that have committed crimes against humanity:

1. Germany circa 1940
2. Rwanda circa mid 90s
3. Canadian soldiers raping and torturing civilians in that very same conflict
4. If you believe that Palistine is an actual country...then them (I believe blowing up innocent civilians is covered under your definition of war crimes
etc etc etc.....I wonder how many of those countries have been charged or whatever wording you used.

I still don't see how people can think that Bush is the bigger threat. All these little dictators running around with their hands on nuclear weopons are more likely to use nuclear weapons than the US would. Nukes would be the last thing the Us would want to use. I wonder...Say the US didn't get involved. Would the iraqi's be thanking you for not getting rid of Saddam as they are lead to a firing squad? I wonder....

well let me ask you this so Saddam isnt the greatest leader, but Bush is the saint right??

dude I dont know if u were born here or not,but I was borned and raised there, I know how it is there. All I can tell you is that people in that region are not happy with the fact that America is all over them.Let them choose whaat they want dont and how they want they live, they dont need US to choose their regime.I wonder how things would be if middle east had no oil,you probably wont see America there thats for sure.

First off... i dont need a background check on Saddam... i know who he is and the horrible things he has done. Wih respect to him "taking over" another nation as you put it in one of your posts.... he doesnt have the resources to that. Attacking ohter nations is another story... i know he would do that.... but he has only done that as a response to this war...if he had done this out of the blue maybe three years ago.. then it would be a diffferent story. And HOW THE FUCK can you say these that we should be thankful for these sanctions... thats the most disgusting thing ive read so far... Do you know what affectt these sanctions have had on the Iraqi people... do you know how it feels like to starve to death... die of a common cold becuase there is no medicine... so you know how it feels like to constantly use wet rags to tend to the burns caused by the gulf war without proper hospital attention... you obviously have no fucking clue as to the suffering of the IRaqi people as you type away in your comfortable room.

YOU NEED ALOT OF LEARNING TO DO MAN!!

There is soo much ignorance in that last statement. Jeb bush.. George bush's brother was the govenor of Florida during the race... NUFF SAID!

The US has done more damage to this world..... environmentally, humanitarily and politcally than many of these "little" countries that you cant properly identify.

Again... with respect to TERRORISM... the US is the only nation to be charged with that crime....that tells youa lot.... and with respect to weapons of mass destruction.... what nation was the only one to ever use a nuclear weapon?!?!! .. TWICE imight add!!!!

i am not gettting involved in the debate.

Just wanted to say that i hope people realize the difference between US government and its polices and the US people. I may not agree with certain actions of the american government, but i support the people, i count many americans as my friends, as i do arabs, jews and mexicans, and i hate it when people paint one country with the same brush, just becuase of the actions of one person does not mean the whole country is like that.

war is cool cause watching CNN at night wil be like watching a good action flick, and the CNN site now has a bunch of cool pictures of bombs and stuff. ..
i actually know people who've been hoping for war.... makes me sick... it's one thing to support war, its another thing that some people are actually ROOTING for war... i read some interviews with people and it makes me sick the way they're all "YEE HAW!" about this war... people say stuff like "now they'll feel what we felt on 9/11" (not actual quote, but the gist of it...)but its yet to be proven, the link between iraq and the al quaeda. but now that its already started, i hope that the iraqi army lays down and allied forces can walk into baghdad with no civilian casualties...

here's a tidbit off Associated Press news ..

quote:
After removing his mask, the company commander, Capt. Chris Carter of Watkinsville, Ga., said: "Saddam is a fool."

"I think it's an obvious attempt by Saddam Hussein (news - web sites) to demoralize the army and the American public," Carter said. "An attempt that has been a miserable failure. He's probably got the guys more ready to fight than ever."

Some Marines were simply excited to begin fighting, something they had trained to do for years, and occasional screams of "Let's get it on!" came from some of their weapons holes.

"yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehawwwwwwwwww !"

i'm sure there are a lot of intelligent people in the army, but you gotta figure there are probably a lot of crazy gun nuts in there too, who've been waiting years to shoot at something.... its sad.
