ive got a masssssive beef with that trailor... that guy is no assasin!!! fkn pathetic work thats for sure!!!
when he was up in the bell tower... that should have been more than enough to do the job and get out of there, very simple job!
the whole coming up through the croud, crossbow 1 of the guards, stab the other guard.... pathetic.... but was impressive stabing the king (im assuming) in the neck and game over... but the whole fighting the guards and running.... low class assasin! BUT!!! i was slightly impressed with the way he jumped, ran, climbed the wall and ran ontop of the roof, and yes he scores points of vanishing amongst the priests coming out of the church... that was the only impressive part of the trailor...
assain was my most fav class in D&D (real D&D) when i used to play a while ago.... my papers for my rogue/assasin is pretty sweet

You're thinking of modern assasins. A sniper is tottaly different to an arrow. An arrow is never a sure kill even if you hit the guy in the head and the flight path is impossible to determine. The wind can fuck it up and ruin your one chanc of killing your target.
The only way to make certain he's dead is to do it the old fashioned way. Plus, it opens up the interesting feature in the game where the crowd can help or hinder you, depending on past actions in the game.

PS (just came to mind) find a movie called "Leon: the Professional"
NOW THAT IS AN ASSASIN!!! i dont know how many times ive watched that movie but damn he is a true assasin, probably one of the reasons why i loved it so much.... also, Natalie Portman is in it when she was really young (gives you an idea how old it is).... also made me love Sting more lol, shape of my heart plays thru the movie and in the credits... aaahhh love that song!!!

You do realise that the Altair, the character you play is meant to be one of the first assassins ever? The Assassins Guild originated during the Crusades in the middle east and while your views are based on fictional D&D, this is based on real life. Plus, how about the fact that because they are the first organised killers, they may still be developing their skills
You make it sound like you're an assassin. Guess what, you're not. The closest you have come to it is playing a board game or pc version of a board game. Just because you may be a pro at a particular class in D&D doesn't mean you are an expert. You've already shown a blatant lack of knowledge for the subject.
Anyway, you're looking way too into it. Should be a wicked game.
