5 Months to go on coverage for my laptop, it dies, I get a new one.

Hooray.

Though a week without a computer in the middle of the semester and during midterms is proving a bit of a hassle already, it would seem to be well worth it.

my laptop's falling apart. slowly, but its falling apart. the springs and crap that hold the screen up are dying so if i bump it it just falls shut completely. yeah, the hinges are just fucked pretty much, yesterday the top of a screw (like just the head) just flew out from my computer. wasn't moving it, and i can't figure out where it came from

Same boat as me - mine had gradually been going to pieces for months and today I finally got fed up with it and made an appointment at a "genius bar" at one of the Apple stores in town.

It took two hours for them to check just about every little possible thing out that was wrong with it to make sure it wasn't entirely due to some small thing that a loophole in my contract would allow them not to cover - but perseverance paid off in the end.

Though I should note that they aren't covering the entirety of the cost of a replacement (because issues that have to do with the battery are not covered), but it is the vast majority of it - so meh, win in my eyes.
