its hard to cut up and lift at the same time...im finding it easier to run it out and drop the weight then start lifting cuz the lifting part is much easier then the cardio lol
actually the cardio is getting easier and its fun too...once you start focusing on your breathing and you get a light sweat going, you just don't want to stop. easy 2MI every day, sometimes i bike at night and rollerblade on the weeekends...
lifting i agree does tighten up things, but during this cardio stage that i'm in...the only lifting i really do is muscle group, so i hammer my tri's one day, chest another, bi's, back, legs, shoulders - they all get maybe 4-5 lifting workouts then followed by a 2MI run on the treadmill...end all of my gym days with ab work outs.
ab workouts i do - leg lifts, cycle crunches, body bar twist, machine crunches, medicine ball twist, and i use the balance ball and rest my legs on it in a push up position and roll my knees to my stomach - i absolutely love the balance ball ab workout, im dripping with sweat after each set, 4 sets of 15...
