FL Studio (as of version 5):

Horrible dual-monitor support. I try to use it across two monitors by restoring to a window and dragging it across both screens, but for some reason, Piano Roll and other windows like to start almost all the way off the left side of the screen and I have a very hard time "grabbing" it.

Remember window positions, dammit!

A way to identify "runaway" automations. Perhaps there is a way to do this and I am unaware. But sometimes I will record some knob tweaks, etc. but I will have accidentally selected the actual track of the noise that I want to modify, instead of an automation track (Main Automation, for example). Then I can't find it to change it, delete it, fix it, or it ends prematurely, etc. Perhaps a way to FORCE automations into their own track?

Multiple undos would be nice.

Drag the automation track above or beneath the MIDI track
for a better overview. Don't be lazy .

also, when importing MIDI files. alot of times the VST instrument changes the preset, i know there are ways around this.. but its not always working.

Import the MIDI file and select one of the MIDI tracks you just imported.
Then from the menu: MIDI > Open List Editor.
In there select all the Controller entries from the left
(you basically just want to keep the Note entries),
then press delete.
Presto! No more annoying changing of presets and ALWAYS works.
Hope this will help you a bit with your annoyances .

oh i know this from other sequencers. please tell me some of your ways around it. that really sucks! quite often i looked at the midifile in an eventeditor and didnt see anything that could cause that behaviour

edit: i'm sorry. i didnt read the threat to the end. but actually i looked for midi-events causing that and i didnt find any... strange thing

Well, i a problem with live 5, that it sometime doesnt find my soundcard, and i need to reboot the whole computer! Hate that.

And that it takes up more cpu usage than other sequencers. Otherwise i love Ableton

Reason only having two stereo outs is very annoying.

I'd love to see Cubase SX have a feature where an audio track could be set up as a sampler track - to get rid of the need for Battery, basically. The track would have an easy to use sample browser and also all the sample editing tools in battery/cubase integrated into the track. So (for example) you could easily import a snare, filter it, bitcrush it, create a snare-roll - all in this one sampler track with no vst fx except for verbs or flangers etc. For the snare-roll, volume curves would need to be in discrete steps for each hit (maybe this can already be done, I dunno?).

Buzz is beyond repair, which is sad, how anyone could make such a popular program and not back up the source code anywhere is beyond me.

That is very annoying

You really dont need a CS degrtee to read hex though. It is just like MIDI, the parameters can range from 0 to 255, FF is 255 (or 0 to 128 depending on the specific thing you are adjusting), 80 is 128.

That annoys me about midi in general, all the parameters have quite a low resolution for being in 2006. Surely we can spare more than a byte per knob these days. Alot of other things about MIDI could use some improvement too.

I can't really fault Logic at all, its almost perfect for me. Apart from exs24 being a bit awkward (having to make instruments). Wish I had a decent sampler that let me quickly flick through samples in a folder from the main window.

All the outs on the reason hardware interface can be routed to cubase to my knowledge...
