I would love nothing more then to start djing on a regular basis.
Like a lot of us, I listen to music most of my day and i think i would have a good feel for it. But how old is too old to start up?
Moneys a bitch, and so is motivation. I dont wanna drop a few grand only to sell my shit off a bit later.

basically how long does it take to know the ropes of djing, and is it really worth all the effort?

I only write this cause im 21 now and hate the fact that ive never touched a pair of tables. Going to special events pisses me off even more (ie Picotto) cause i would kill for a chance to spin in front of a small crowd. who knows maybe something good would come outta this?

Oh and this summer im thinking of starting to get something.

as long as you still like the music and you feel good doing it, you are never too old for it.

I'm 23 and I just picked it up last year. I do wish I would have got into it earlier though, I feel like I'm behind other DJ's that are my age.

you are the only person that can truly say it's worth it for you...

i personally don't think it matters when you start.

if you love it that's all that matters. whether you get booked to play out a lot or not.

you can never be to old to start spin...of course you have a litte advantage if you start spin when your'e like 14 years old and stuff like that but if you put good effort and time into it you can get good in a year...

I'm born 85 (going 18 this year) and I've played for like 9 months now and I have my first gig 3:rd may so if you train much you can get gig's and get good pretty fast


but remember...the most important thing is that you think it's fun all the way

I got into it May of 2002 and and I was 19 when I first started. It took me a while to get my shit(saving money) and when I did I was 19. I do wish I started at an earlier age, but not all of us are blessed with a rich family. 21???? You're not old at all man, I thought you were gonna say like 40. And it is true, you're never too old for music. Shit, I used to drive into the parking lot at my highschool and there was this 60 year old teacher who monitored the lot in the mornings. He would always come stand by my car and listen to my tunes when I got to school, quite funny actually. he loved it tho, and if he wanted to start spinning I'd tell him "more power to you man". No one is too old for music.

I got my first decks about 8 months ago, age 28. If i'm too old, so what? then again, I have no amibtions to play to a crowd. I enjoy getting home after a really bad day, a couple of beers and playing my favourite tunes. If i was trying to make a career, then i'd be a little late.
