its a natural anti depressent,

eg. prozac is an anti depressent and it accelerates the use of seratonin over long period at a slow rate. unlike e which is over a short period and high doses.

5htp is jsut the building block of seratonin so if you take lots of 5htp u have lotys of seratonin so arnt as depressed.

that why ur depressed on comedowns, lower seratonin levels.

yes they are antidepressants ... but this leads to their primary use; sleeping tablets.

tkaing htp results in increased levels of serotonin. serotonin levels are linked directly to ability to sleep. More serotonin = greater likelihood of sleep.
