Turntable stereo balance

When I record my mixes I notice that one of my decks tends to output the right stereo channel about 3dB louder than the left channel (as shown on the master VU meter on my DJM600). This is kinda annoying, as if you listen through headphones or from the centre of a decent stereo field, you can tell the audio is just off towards the right.

So, how do I fix this? I guess the problem could be in any of the following areas:
1. Needle / cartridge
2. 1210 turntable
3. Mixer input

I know it's not the mixer stereo balance, as the CD inputs appear correctly balanced on the VU meter on the mixer. Obviously I can't just the overall stereo balance because that would knock the next track off centre, and on the DJM600 each track does not feature an individual stereo balance control.

im pretty sure it is the carts because i had old needles on my numarks and when i got the trackmasters the stereo was lined up perfectly or almost perfect at least.

so check the same record with the same turntable with each different needle/carts and maybe you can pinpoint the problem...

To see if it's a mixer input problem, hook up a CD player and use the LINE1 selector to play the CD. Then see if you still have stereo problems.

To see if your right turntable is fault, switch needles and see if the right channel is still too loud. If it is, then it must be the turntable (if it's not the mixer).

To see if your needle is the problem, switch your left/right needle. If there's now stereo problems on the left turntable, then the needle must be faulty. Repeat this process with the cartridge to see if the cartridge is faulty.

Thanks for the answers... I guess you can't beat the old process of elimination

I'll give it a go when I've finished here.
