I play the sax
-I started in 4th grade. I got a used one for 200$
-In 7th I got a new on for 700(student model)
-In 9th I begain to play Baritone saxaphone
-Cost for one of those are 3000$ but It was the school
-College I still play baritone and play a newer on the school got
Selmer 80 series (8000$)
I took lessons this year on an Alto beause I was away from it since 9th grade. The school had a gold plated mark 6 alto. Thing is worth (5000 up???) great sax.
Well you need to know how to read treble clef. easiest one from top to bottom GABCDEFG. All sax's play same clef. BUt you can't read tenor/saprano and bari/alto on the same sheet music. Alto/Bari Eb instreumetns and Saprano/Tenor in C I think??
Take you a year to learn fingerings....2 to get better at music. 3rd year if you practice like 1 hour a day you be playing level 6 music which looks scary to anyone but possible if you practice.
Talk to a local music store people in you want to get started.
seems like for you playing the sax would be a costly investment. Ex is dj'n. 2 TT'z and mixer 1000+. Feel like spending some dough then have fun but get your money's worth and like it. Wasting alot money sucks! Peace
