is there a vinyl press somewhere in TO? a place to make white labels?
there are some songs that I can only find on cd but would love to spin on vinyl, let me know

Vestax sells one. I have no idea how much it costs, but I do know that they make/sell a unit that cuts records.

Vestax also sells blanks/supplies.

is it legal to press anything i want if i bought the cd? well whatever its just 2 songs so im not gonna buy a 5g press...LKD, i couldnt find any ACME press in the phone book and whats the one in markham called?

yea its legal as long as your make it for your own personal use and dont intend to resell the vinyl. P.S i hear the vestax press isnt all that great and not worth the pricetag.. hey thats my $.02 or is it.. $.50 cents!

the vestex press isn't intended for quality releases or anything like that
i think its more intended for a more feasable way for consumers who make tons of dubplates to cut their own shit

you'll be spending around 60 - 100 to get a single acetate record cut...i dont' really think its worth it
im sure you could find the original record for cheaper than that...and it won't be pressed on acetate (i.e. loses quality a lot faster than vinyl)

if you want your own material to play live...i would suggest just putting it on cd
it doesn't really make sense anymore to get dubs cut when cd decks are becoming more popular and are in a large majority of clubs these days

I agree. Blank Vinyls go for about 20 bucks Uh-merican.

Exactly... why spend all that money and go through all the B.S. if you can just burn it onto a CD and play it on a CD player (99% of the clubs have CD players, so you're covered).

Yes, sadly (at least for me), the wisest and most economical thing to do is invest in a Pioneer CDJ.

Just wait for SACD decks. Then vinyl's sound quality will be licked forever!
