I'm a chemist and so trust me when I say that you don't have to worry about that I've read several articles in audiophile magazines that also use rubbing alcohol. The container that you buy in the store is only 70% anyway, the rest being water. One thing to note is that if you do use water, make sure that it is PURE water and not tap water. There are an alarming amount of salts in regular water and even stuff that goes through purifiers (it just replaces the hard metal salts with NaCl (table salt). The water must be distilled and use ONLY distilled water.
