Where is Ibiza?
Where exactly is this Godskitchen place.I've heard of one in Birmingham.Is it a chain?

And when a DJ gets residency,what does it mean?

Oh god!

Godskitchen is the name of a night at a club! Its a very big night! Becuase it is only a night, it can move from venue to venue and hold nights in Ibiza over the summer! GK is based at a club called code in birmingham (soon to be demolished.)

A Residency for a dj means that he will get to play at that club ona regular bases! Its like the clubs personal dj!

Ibiza is in Europe, and is very popular for club goers during the summer! Hence alot of big nights are held on the island!

Ibiza is an island off the coast of Spain where they have lots of clubs and DJs come there often, especially during the summer. It is the place to be during spring break if you can afford it or summer.

When a DJ gets "residency" all it means is that they come back to the club once every so often and spin. They are considered a "resident" of the club because of how often they spin there.

guys stop acting liek fuckin retards and tell the original poster what he wants.....theres no need to act cutesy since knowing about ibiza or gatecrasher is not common knowledge for everyone...besdies he might just be getting into trance....

I still dont know much about mixing techniques or what really a dj is doing behind the decks....for al ong time it seemed that he was just spinning records,,so i was liek "why can i not do that"...then i noticed him playing aorudn wit knobs but what exactly those knobs do i have no fuckin idea..if someone's playing the guitar or the drums ,,i can instnaly see where the talent's coming in but im still to fully appreciate where a dj's talent lies.....and what the hell do they keep listneing to with one earphone ......r they trying ot match the beat of the next song...god help me !

now no bozo should flame me for this but only say somthing if they can answer any of those questions

Hey thanks for understanding LordTranceALaut.I *AM* new to trance and I love it.And since I've been trying to read biography of DJs over at DJlist.com,I came across those terms and eventhough I've heard of it a lot,I never really knew what it meant exactly.

Yeah,once I become a senior tranceaddict,I will be sure not to act like dumbasses who think they know everything and ridicule noobs.

Besides,I knew Ibiza was in Europe,residency I thought it meant "The DJ's home club to spin at" and Godskitchen,my friend in Birmingham told me he went to Code there.But I thought the name of the PLACE was Godskitchen.

So I'm not all noobish but wanted confirmation.

Code is being demolished already? Hasn't it only been up for like 3 yrs?? I heard it was too small for GK, but I didn't think they were going to tear it down...
