Question Outdoor speakers

Which speakers would be best for outdoor use.

In particular, durability in the summer months when humidity is high?

Also, how much power would be needed for outdoor events (200 or more people)?

Thanks!

Bah, outdoor, I think you'll need 1000Watts. But, it does depend on the surface. You don't need special speakers for paricular environnements. Just use normal speakers with a good frequency response, I'm sure dj_tranz will give you a good product

i recommend the community speakers as well
our company uses them for our concert sound and they are mint
IMO they're the best loudspeakers you can get aside from turbosound

Thanks for the help guys. I really appreciate it.

We have 2 stage monitors, both rated at 100W program. Would the amp used for 1000W speakers blow them out?

Thnaks John, that's correct. You wanna have a separate monitors amp whenever possible. Get like a Crown XLS402 amp for the monitors, just because it says 100watt prog, don't mean it can't handle more than that. A speaker will handle more power as long as it comes from a clean amp, like Crown, shitty and cheap amps even at lower than 100w will ruin the speaker.
