what to do after a computer crash....
my girlfriends computer crashed and i would like ti know how to reinstall windows after this type of problem i think you have to enter the bios first.anybody know i good website with a step by step method of starting over from scratch with a computer.i would like her to avoid paying 300 to get it up and running again...

1. back up important docs and trance files
2. format the harddrive
3. do a fresh installation of the OS
4. install all the updated drivers
5. make a image of the recent fresh OS install
6. you are all set
to be continued....
7. if u get more errors after fresh install or after couple of usesed which is highly unlikedly then u have somekind of hardware conflict
8 if that happen take out what ever u think is causing it then reboot/turn on pc
9. if more help is needed seek a pro like someone of US/me/them
if it works for me then it should work for u and all. i done it many times when i install new hardware or major upgrade.

you dont have to change anything in the bios unless:
you need to change it so you can boot with floppy/cd
or you removed the bios chip thingy which makes everything reset
so dont change bios, its actually easy to start over now
backup all files on another partition or drive
insert windows xp cd
restart computer, it should go to a windows xp setup screen before booting to windows
rewrite over original and install (formats)
you are done
install programs

nah.. u dont need to bother with any of that!!! .. when my computer "crashed" all i did was the following
hold spacebar down on startup
press the reset button 5 times
turn the monitor on and off 17 times
then press the sleep button on the front of your computer..
turn it off at the plug, then back on again and hey presto! it works
(make sure the printer isn't turned on at the time, otherwise it wont work!)

Well if you crashed against a computer, the first thing you should go to the emergency room in the nearest hospital to make sure you don't have concussion - that can be very dangerous!
did u tell him about the "special" koolaid? make sure u have some b4 the mother chip arrives
