hey bleedbeat, welcome to TA...i have just listened to your track and it is amerturish but good bar a few things. the intro is good i like that and the lead is a bit ressy, don't know if you want it to sound like that tho. the kick has too much high end on and no power if you know what i mean. the use of effects could have a bit more velocity on them as they get a bit hard to hear at times but they are brilliant. i love the vocals, where'd you get them from??? hehe. a compressor may be needed in your master as its playing merry hell with my mixer. its a great track just needs a bit work thatz all.

keep it up

thanks for the feedback! if it's not too much trouble, do you think you could explain what you mean by amerturish? i would like to bump it up to a more professional sound but don't know how to do it. and what is "ressy"? how do i add more power to the kick? how do i add more velocity to the effects? and do i add an overall compressor to the whole track after mixdown? sorry for all the questions...i'm pretty new to this. the vocals are taken from a sermon by Gordon Venturella. glad you like em.

thanks for the encouragement and for listening

No Problems:

Amerturish - the sounds you are using / generating sound like presets on vst instruments, the way i learned is by listening to my favorite producers and trying to immitate the sounds they were using. Once i had sort of got the nak of it i went onto making my own sounds.

ressy (resonance): your main lead was "ressy", it can be an effect but if you want a crispy high end frequency on your leads you are best off equalising your sound.

Kick drums: look around for samples and play around with your kick drums if you still can't get that sound again try equalisation.

Compression: if sounds are to powerful and velocity can't fix this problem or if the sound is out of control try a tool called the compressor if you take a look here on my website i have a description of what components a compressor has and what it does (Check the tutorials section) also it could be your mastering i may be talking to simple here but no sounds should exceed 0.0db on main mix.

hope i helped,

tezz
