Unhappy recording vinyl - need some tips

I am starting to record my vinyls to preserve them. I would like to get some ideas from you guys about the best way to record it. It's going into my soundcard from my turntables and it's not being mixed - just recording individual songs. What issues do I need to know about amps or mixers: what exactly do I need to make a good, quality recording of my records.

Cheers!

DjJade hit the nail on the head here...

But, you might consider recording with less tonearm weight than you'd normally have for mixing. Depending on your carts and how you have your TTs set up this can produce an increase in sound quality.

I did search, but with no success - what should I be searching for? Recording vinyls, recording records, studios, etc. I have no idea

i searched for record and soundforge becuase most people use it and if anyone asks...someone is bound to suggest

most of them are about recording mixes but its all the same...you look at the same things. some topics dont match yours exactly but htey have to do with recording into a computer and will be worth reading imo

these are only a few i know there are more.
