1. Instead of popups you can have ads on the screens after you have posted a message (you know the page where you are being redirected after e few secounds)... popups is annoying and I don't ever look at them.. does anyone?

2. What about a notification email when there is a new thread posted in one of your subscribed forums?

thing is with add's imm sure popups generate more income than add's do.

as to the susbscription email i dont know about that, but if that was to happen in music discussion you would be geting loads of emails a day if each new thread sent a email.

may be like that, i don't know... this is a better way of advertising anyway...

about many mail per day i think you can choose which forums to get mails from... i mean there is not that many new threads per day... and for example it's great for small forums such as the swedish one...

Pop-ups are ok as long as the don't come up all the time, like when entering a thread, posting e.t.c. That would really be annoying.
One or two pop-ups when entering the site are ok. Though they can slow down the connection at times.
I don't pay attention to them anyway
