So i've mastered the basics of beatmatching. I can obviously match two songs, and fade one out from the other, and make it sound pretty good.

What exactly do I learn to do next? How do I start to really "mix" ?? As in having 2 songs playing, and take the bass out of one, and turning up the other, and than vice versa... I'm not sure where to head to next....

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The only thing I can suggest is fooling around with tunes and eventually, you'll devoloppe your own style...

well at leats thats what i did

no really after i learned how to spinn trance i started getting into breaks and stuff...so i spinn both and i enjoy it.
i would say maybe looking into spinning 2 styles. Give your life some new tunes every time you spinn enstead of the same thing over again.

I would suggest working on the track selection to see what kinds of tracks go well with each other depending on your style of course, then maybe try varying your your blends.

just freestyle i guess uv got over the hurdles its time for fun

phraze matching! you can't put up a seamless mix unless you can do this decently i think its key to a mix. i beleive recess.org or some site like that has an excellent tutorial on it. basically what you do is figure out if it is evey 4 beats or 8 beats or 16 or so on that a new sound or the song changes. match your incoming track to the begining of a phrase on your live track and mix out with your eqs and fader...this is a really shitty explanation so if anyone else can explain i'm sure they will help out better than me i could put up a few examples of it if you would like though

if you really wanna become diverse you should start treating the turntable as an instrument

i suggest : turntable technique "the art of the dj" by stephen webber

its kinda nice since it comes with 2x12" lesson records that teach you how to cue shit up and a little skratching too

dont mean to sound rookie but its not a bad tool for begginers!

Exactly! I wish somebody had told me this. I master beat matching ages ago but couldn't work out why the mixes where still sounding shit. Then I realised about this, so slowly its starting to improve more. I think all the big names use this method. www.ivibes.nu have a tutorial on it.
