selling everything, advice please?

a new baby on the way and old age creeping in am considering flogging all my dj stuff, decks, mixer, amp, cd auido burner, custom built deck and record unit and of course 1300+ dance records, mainly trance, loads of current stuff, mainly imports... from 89-2003. Dutch, German, all the usual suspects and lots of the rare collectables exchanged in this forum.

Trouble is value, tis insured for 10K, but would I even realise half that?

Any ideas, dont want to waste 100 quid avertising on ebay if it wont attract any buyers, anyone ever sold a collection??

Any help, thoughts appreciated.

you could maybe try selling some of it seperately for quicker results

Putting together a list will take time, but you'll arguably get better cash for single sales than one big group. Lots of people on this board would take.

ebay works well, but selling a collection is difficult I think.

Selling one-by-one is more money, but more time.

I'd be interested in seeing a list though.

I'd be interested in a list for sure!! don't forget to pull the insurance once you get rid of everything to avoid dues.

ye single item sales will get u the most $$$.. but the hassle of managing / packing / shipping / listing 1300 + records is just not worth it.. especially since u have a baby on the way. it will just take up way to much time.

what u can do is maybe hire someoen to sell them for u? like a friend or someone who does this for a living.

or if u want to do it yoruself, i suggest make bundles of like 10-20 records. u can easily get $100+ for a nice bundle of 10 reg trance/prog tunes.. and sell the rare ones seperatly.

hope this works out for you, id love to see a list as well!!
