lemme break it down for you . . .
A direct-drive turntable is gonna cost at least $150, up to $500 if you want to get something quality.
Most of the better-quality decks need cartridges, which range from $30-150 apiece.
You'll also need a mixer, what kind depends on what kind of music you plan to spin. Expect at least about $200.
To hear the music and actually mix, you'll need a pair of headphones, ranging from $30-150, depending on quality.
But again, Boomer is right, its the vinyls that end up costing a ton, cuz you keep buying them and they add up quickly, figure $10 apiece if you buy them new.
So there's a basic cost overview, look around for deals on ebay, and save some cash so you can get quality stuff.
PM or email me if you have any questions. Hope I helped.
