Mixing with CD turntables

I've been mixing with vinyl for a lil over a year, but about 5 months ago I added a cd turntable to my setup. Ever since I have been mixing with the cd turntable exactly the same way as I do with a regular TT(play, stop, etc). My CD Turntable has the basic functions(ie, Cue) but does not have looping.
Do any of you use the cue button and if so for what reason(please explain)?
It might simplify matters for songs that dont start the beat on the first second of the song.

thanx a lot

i have no idea what cd deck you have but in general you can use the play/ pause botton in conjuction with the cue button to set a cue point in the song that you are about to play. after you set the cue point, you can hit the cue button to bring the song back to that cue point. so you first set the cue point, let the song play while you get it beatmatched to the other song and hit cue to bring you back to the begining before your ready to mix. you should look in your instruction manual to learn how to set the cue point or let us know what cd deck you have, i'm sure that somebody has the same one. i've only ever used denons and numarks and they were alittle bit different but not too much.
hope that helped

With a decent CD deck you can be playing the track, then re-cue it and start it playing again from the cue point in something like 0.5 seconds. Try that with a vinyl

This ability allows you to be creative e.g. you can set a cue point for some vocal sample in the break and when you've finished mixing the track out you can instantly cue back to the vocal sample and drop it in again... and again... But not too many times eh?

To put it into the simplest of terms, the cue button is basically what you use on the CD deck to emulate holding your record in place over the first bass beat when you use your TT. The difference is that when you release your record and you want to recue it, you have to back it up, find the first beat again etc. With a cd deck you simpley press pause, use the fast forward/rewind to select the exact frame on the cd (by pressing it quickly, do not hold the FF down!) and then use the cue button when you want to restart the track on the first bass beat (or whenever you want to cue it at)
