I wish they didnt put the tracklist on the back of (mixed) cds....
I think i like it better, like its more like a live show, when you dont know what the dj is gonna play next. Then, every track is a surprise, and you still get the "OMG i love this track" feeling that comes outta nowhere.

I wouldn't buy a CD if I didn't know what was on it unless it was mixed by a DJ whose stuff I normally like.
Besides, a quick glance at a tracklisting for familiar songs doesn't really ruin the experience. I usually don't know at least half of the tracks on the CD anyway so I don't see it making a difference.
Livesets are a different case of course...

i dunno
sometimes its fun to just take a chance and buy omething you've never heard of.. then again, the cd store i go to has a return policy that lets you take em back after you open em, as long as the cd isnt trashed.

i think you'll find the tracks are put there for legal reasons, part of the licensing agreement between labels and the CD compiler.

- I wouldnt buy a CD without a tracklist. It could be worst crap in there, and I would be throwin my money to the garbage. If you dont want to see the tracklist, its easy.. dont look at the back, and thats it!!!! no one places a gun on your head hehehe..

you know this little problem could be avoided if you didn't listen to radio broadcasts or mp3s before the albums are released...that way...everything would be awesome on the album...

but then you wouldn't know what to buy...
here's what i do: take a quick glance at the tracks if i don't know the compilation and if i do know the cd, i take a look at it only if i know that i won't recognize the tunes (for example, a nick warren gu cd is safe for me too look at cuz i have no idea what he'd play).
then when i listen i look at the tracklist only after the track is over or if i really liked it. but if you take away the tracklisting from the back i'll go mad cuz i won't know what's being played - i'm obsessive-compulsive about that, i always need to know what track is playing even if i'm not going crazy about it.

I like your idea though...Maybe make it so that you need special decoder glasses (those red lens jobbies) that can read the red barred out script. For those who won't buy it without knowing the tracklistings, they can use the "spoiler" glasses at the point of purchase display! AWESOME IDEA!! haahah ...
