So the green river killer, dude lives about 45 minutes away from me, admitted to brutally murdering 48 women.

In exchange for a guilty plea, the prosecutor is dumping the death penalty and putting him in prison for life.

Firstly, think of what this guy did. 48 times he took a womans life. Because they were weaker than him, because he wanted to, because he wanted to kill. 48 times rage spasmed across his face as he struck these women down, silencing them forever. 48 times a woman gasped her last breath, blood bubbling out, because this fuck wanted to take a life. He stood there, arms hanging limply, head cocked to the side, as her foot kicked out reflexively, and a small cry of pain escaped her tortured throat...the last heart wrenching moments of their life captured in the dull reflection of this man's eyes...

and he gets to go to prison for life. Where you get hot showers, hot meals, free gyms, cable television, and a plethora of other luxuries.

Their reasoning (the prosecutions) is that they would have to convince a jury beyond reasonable doubt on every aspect of every crime to get a conviction. This could take quite a while on 48 counts of aggravated murder. Juries could be thrown out, mistrials etc...the guy may never get a conviction.

Im so angry right now...I cant believe the legal system has turned into this fucking barter and trade system. The heart of the law is fucking gone. This fuck is admitting to killing FORTY EIGHT WOMEN!!!!!!!!! ADMITTING IT! and they wont kill the mother ******.

thoughts? Im pretty fucking angry right now cuz its on live TV and I keep seeing the face of this little shit flashing across the screen as they calmly discuss the people whose lives got cut horrifyingly short...God, I feel sick.

Well how are we supposed to heal those who are sick with this disease of serial killing? What he needs is a good rehabilitation program to help him with his disease. Then once he's healed, we should be confident enough to send him back out in society.

Sorry to make light of the subject. For the most part, I don't believe in the justification of the death penalty. However, the human instinct inside me wouldn't have a difficult time making exceptions, such as this.

The moment you intentionally take someones life, you give up the right of your own, so for someone to get let off after 48 is pathetic, we don't need to rehabilitate this kind of person, we need them gone and spend the money on people who need it like schools & healthcare for people

Why not make the pro-lifers happy and just give him life imprisonment with weekly floggings?

You can calculate how many floggings is worth a human life ... infinity ... and set this guy up with an infinity*48 flogging life sentences.

Actually the UK’s very own Dr. Shipman (I think that was his name) is the worst ever serial killer. He bumped off about 200 OAP’s to get to their inheritance but no one really knows the exact figure of how many were killed.

As I mentioned previously, I would easily make an exception to such an extreme whacko case like this. As far as I'm concerned, this guy/demon/freak doesn't belong on the same planet as the rest of us.

However, the argument that I often hear death penalty advocates use is that "eye for an eye" phrase out of Leviticus. To which I counter with the Christian "turn the other cheek" phrase which Jesus himself mentioned in direct response to the "eye for an eye" statement. And as I said earlier, it's funny how dp advocates often skip over that passage, because it doesn't fit their "Christian" agenda.

Um, if someone is sick enough to kill that many people then in no way should they ever be let back into society...even after rehabilitation. I think what this guy did is beyond a disease...he's a piece of shit IMO and shouldn't have the right to live. In situations such as his, I support the death penalty fully.
