I need to bitch a little....
I consider myself a Paul Van Dyk follower. He is my all around favorite DJ and I live his production work. His "Out there and back" album is the album that got me in to Trance music. He's my inspiration in my endeavours into trance production work. BUT, his new album "Reflections" really let me down. I went and had a listen today and was just all around unimpressed. The quality is so much less than that of his productions. He's usually so attentive to detail and his end products are so well developed and mature, but "Reflections" was an all around flop... no real emotion, no real feeling...
This is the same feeling I got from Armin Van Buuren's album, "76". Aside from a couple of songs on there, the album just really let me down. I've been really waiting for AVB to climb the ladder and take the top spot on the DJ list because I love him and think he has so much to offer trance music.
I just hope that their next productionis will consist of much more inspired music....
