God damn it took me a while to remember who it was...
Talk Talk Vs Liquid People - Its my Life - Nebula
Nebula, NOT Ministry of Sound, that kind of slowed down my search. Anyways, this song (and video if you can find it) is phenomenal. Fuck this No Doubt crap.

The original.
All things considered I thought they did a good job.
Sure it's not a trance/house/breaks/progressive remake by No Doubt but it a good updated version I thought...
I like the vid

bleh...the remix is pretty weak...actually that's being kind...it sucks ass...sounds like some kid did it on his PC?!?
As for No Doubt...old stuff is good...new stuff, not so good. Why they would redo this song...i don't know. yuck. It's even worse than the new remix. The original is a classic and should just be left alone!

MarkT has it right. No Doubt should have left this one alone. But on the same wavelength, I think that Sheryl Crow did a great job on "The First Cut is the Deepest". Awesome song, even though it's not generally my genre...
My 2 cents.

That stupid group did more than jsut cover the song but ruin it. I Love that song (as I am a retroaddict supreme) and I HATE it when ppl make shitty useless covers. it is exactly the same as the original. I see no reason why it was covered.
As fo r the Dr. Alban track that was a Totally different song as it did not sample the or cover anything in the original 80s hit.

Why does Hip hop try to cover good 80s tracks and then ruin it!?? Like DMX sampled "Africa" by todo. WHY?????????? Enema (as Ilike to call Eminem) takes aerosmiths song and just adds more bass and raps to it. Any idiot can produce that in 3 minutes. I got an idea. Who wants to make aparody hip hops song here? I do. and my good old buddy Sven (as I like to call Halo ) can rap with me yo yo yo!
and do da backup vocals. uh yeah uh uh yeah uh (swinging arms around like they dop in the videos)
[/rant]
(EDIT)
Don't get me wrong. I d like Covers of 80s and 70s songs as long as they are tasteful.. ie.. Blue monday (peter rauhover I think remixed that) as well as September (earth wind and fire about 2 years ago). If some hip hop guy samples "Take on me" from A-ha I will go postal!

E-Man! You speak truth like a prophet, you only gonna profit... ergg, can't keep from... rapping...
I agree, if you aren't going to BRING something to the remix, then why bother? Just re-record it, buy the rights, and re-release it!
