Radiohead is one of my favourite artists. This album is quite good although not their best effort. A few of the songs do sound rather similar which isn't normal for this group. On this album, more than any of their other ones, they change it up quite a bit. Ballads, a bit of rock, some funky electronic tracks but it does get a bit repetitive. There are some stand out tracks on this record however. Personally, I really like the beginning and the end, but the middle doesn't quite live up to the rest of it. Overall, it is very much worth buying and it is light years ahead of 99% of anything else on the charts.

btw, yeah radiohead kick-ass
Stick your hand up if radioheads "I Could Be Wrong" was the one that got you. My brother first gave me a radiohead CD years ago and when I first listened I thought what the hell is this?! Then I heard this tune and I stopped what I was doing, listened to the way this sounded and immediately knew somehow that this would me my favourite. Then it built up from there. I Heard Knives out and loved it. No Surprises >Loved It. etc...
"I Could Be Wrong" always puts me in the mood for a whole day of Radiohead.
I will never stop listening to radiohead.
Another thing that I want to discuss is the complex metaphors that they use in their songs. I think that Thom Yorke is a Genius with the way he not only comes up with the metaphors, but also adds thousands of tiny little things to the instruments and the way he sings to make each song perfect.
So put down your detailed Radiohead interpretations if you want to and keep this thread going.

Amnesiac is their best album damnit!
by the way, if your not into those tracks because they are... "whiny"
then you are not into Radiohead.
Real radiohead fans know exactly what is special about them

I think you're talking about "I Might Be Wrong" from Amnesiac - great track.

radiohead is my favorite group/artist outside of EDM music. I can't get enough of them. Saw them twice this past summer and all I can say is that they have the best live performance out of any musicians i've seen (all genres considered).
their music is kind of hard to get into though. I think it's probably easiest to start listening to "OK Computer" (Paranoid Android, Karma Police, No Suprises) and then probably "Hail to the Thief" (There There, Go to Sleep, 2+2=5) and pick some tracks off Kid A and Amnesiac (Idioteque - one of my favorites, Morning Bell, Everything in its Right Place, National Anthem, Packt Like Sardines in a Crushd Tin Box, I Might be Wrong). That's just naming a couple of tunes that are easy to listen to when starting off - I didn't listen to the Bends or Pablo Honey until after Hail to the Thief came out so I can't recommend any to start with, although My Iron Lung, Creep (old), High and Dry, Nice Dream and Street Spirit are great songs.
Their music is really emotional - helped me through a couple of tough times. If you can't get into it I understand that completely, but if you think it's crap music then all I can say is that you're horribly wrong.
