Sorry to burst your "lossless audio cd is audibly superior" bubble but, well, they aren't. At least not if something is encoded properly. alt preset standard lame encodes are so good that in blind tests that nearly nobody can tell the difference. Spectral analysers will tell you that raw wav data pisses all over mp3 as far as accuracy. And that is true.. but what the ear doesn't hear it cannot really discriminate against. Im inclined to say that your speakers, connections, and output card are the weaker links in your system than the file format...
*edit* before anyone says anything, yes i realize that cd audio isn't really lossless either.. who needs 96khz 24 bit audio though (which technically isn't lossless either ^^).. Digital audio is inherently somewhat lossy....
