Ok so there was a long thread before discussing what the tune for the next RMX competition here should be. In that thread, I had mentioned the song Verve - Freshman, it's a really good rock track that has lots of emotion in it and i don't believe has ever been remixed into trance. I think it'd make a good choice for the competition. I've worked with the samples i extraced from it a bit, and got a little beat going, just to show that it *can* be turned into trance. Take a listen, and tell me if you think I should make this the official tune for the next competiton. Thanks.

I think it could be done, but I think this would be a really difficult one to do... The vocals sound like they would be tricky to adapt.

But if you want this track to be used, then just say the word.

Sounds interesting! I might give it a stab for fun.

i don't feel that the vocals could give the track a trance drive.

I have always sort of toyed with the idea of remixing this type of track.

Other idea's I've played with...
Counting Crows - Colorblind
Wallflowers - One Headlight

It is hard to remix them properly though, but I think if pulled off correctly it would not only be a cool sound, but something rather inventive...

it is a good song. it will be challenging. it will be fresh. i say go for it. it's your call anyway... the prize for winning the competition is so that YOU get to pick the tune YOU want remixed.
