suggestion for TA remix comp.

Ok so there was a long thread before discussing what the tune for the next RMX competition here should be. In that thread, I had mentioned the song Verve - Freshman, it's a really good rock track that has lots of emotion in it and i don't believe has ever been remixed into trance. I think it'd make a good choice for the competition. I've worked with the samples i extraced from it a bit, and got a little beat going, just to show that it *can* be turned into trance. Take a listen, and tell me if you think I should make this the official tune for the next competiton. Thanks.

Verve - Freshman (EN2T Sample Mix)

Stan.

Well, it's fully up to you. If you want it to be the tune, then what you say goes. Force the issue if you like

I don't know. Doesn't feel like it should be a trance track to me.

I think it could be done, but I think this would be a really difficult one to do... The vocals sound like they would be tricky to adapt.

But if you want this track to be used, then just say the word.

i don't feel that the vocals could give the track a trance drive.

i think it would be a challenge... i'd rather do a remix of this than some uber trance hit like Delirium - Silence or PvD - For an Angel

something like what G&D would attempt to remix

Like what you've done here.

I have always sort of toyed with the idea of remixing this type of track.

Other idea's I've played with...
Counting Crows - Colorblind
Wallflowers - One Headlight

It is hard to remix them properly though, but I think if pulled off correctly it would not only be a cool sound, but something rather inventive...

it is a good song. it will be challenging. it will be fresh. i say go for it. it's your call anyway... the prize for winning the competition is so that YOU get to pick the tune YOU want remixed.

up to you G
