Use the option, "Save Project in New Folder"

This will bring up a window where you can select the folder where you want to save it, but also some options

- minimise audio files : only the portions of the audio files you used will be copied to the new directory. Keep in mind, you won't be able to get the "lost" parts back after that, so that option is really only viable when it's a final backup, not an intermediate one.
- Freeze edits : will make every process or effect permanent to each clip in the pool it applies to
- Remove unused files : it will remove all the files which are not used in the pool.

This will reduce filesize by a considerable amount, but be aware that most of them are destructive, so not suited for intermediate backups. You won't be able to get back the lost files, and if you needed them in future edits, you have a problem. So if you want still to have that possibility, keep the original project for further editing.

You don't need to copy the images folder either, cuz cubase can recalculate them if they're not present.

For backup purposes there is also a function called prepare for archive in the pool. This is useful if you used files in different folders that are not in your project audio folder. It will copy everything in the project audio folder so you can have them everywhere you go.

Hope this helped...

Having trouble to understand what you ask for...

When you export your song it is saved in Wav format (uncompressed) and a wav eats about 10 MB/min HD space.

When you upload it to internet you first want to compress it to mp3. Very easy to do, loads of programs that do it.

And a 90 mb wav file fits easily on a cd? Dunno what you're asking?

ok. as simple as i had done up the song in CUbase SX. i wanna back up my .cpr audio file and the other as data in the CDR. But it was big file which consist of 1Gb. As the file was big that i cant burn to my CDR to do the backup. SO i was asking, is it that I had to go to Cubase SX under POOL, i go and select Trash Bin and choose Empty Trash inorder to reduce the space in Cubase SX so that it fit in well the CDR which hold up to 700Mb.

Do ya understand clearer?

The trash works just like the recycle bin in windows/mac. If there's nothing in it (you didn't move anything to it) emptying it won't help a bit.

Try to do the options like I described above (on a copy project of course, try save copy as, with the several options I explained checked as needed).

If you have lots of audio files used in your project (and especially if they are at higher bitdepths and samplerates), it'll takes lots of space anyways. With lots of content, you may not be able to fit it on one cd. Spanned cd sets are the way to go then.
