The magic word you said was "I want effects." If instead you said "I want a good cheap mixer" I would have said the DJX700. The effects on the DJX700 are useless, I bought my DJX over 2 months ago almost. It's a great mixer to do just that, MIX, but as far as effects go, the knob and light are just decorations. They raise the actual volume of the song if you even decide to use them, and they are not impressive or strong enough to consider playing with them. So if you want effects, either get another mixer with good effects, or buy a seperate effects machine. If you want a good cheap mixer, get the DJX.

I have to disagree.
While the FX are by no means professional, they are decent for the price. I use them in my mixing every few songs. Once you get the hang of them they are useful.

The DJX is a good mixer, I don't know about the other one though.

It's pretty well established that the effects on the djx are plain shitty, and (mostly) useless. If you really want effects integrated with the mixer, then the djx isn't the way to go. Sure, maybe you can find a place where the effect doesn't sound like COMPLETE shit every once in a while, but that doesn't quite make the cut if you want decent effects.

Agreed. I looked in the manual for the DJX to see how the effects work, and each different effect has a set bpm, all of which range between like 100-120 or something stupid like that. Effects suck, but it does the job as a cheap 4 channel mixer.
