Cool CDJ 800s

i got mine yesterday. i have 2 technics 1200s mk2 and a pioneer djm600, and it compliments the setup unbeliveably well.

for anybody who is serious about their djing and wishes to add a cd deck to to their setup, i highly recommend it. completely worth the money

I was just thinking about CDJ800's cos a mate of mine (Ibiza_Dreams) bought a pair not long ago... anyway, with the current offer that Pioneer have going, you can get either $100 rebate or a pair of HDJ1000's for each CDJ800 that you buy, so I'm thinking if HDJ1000's cost about $150 retail, I'll pay $120 to whoever is soon to buy CDJ800's for them to sell me a pair of HDJ1000's. Making sense?

vestax pmc 275

what you guys think? i'm just gonna be a cd dj... can't afford to buy vinyls all the time, i'll stick to CDs. Are the cdj800 much better than cdj100?

there is a HUGE difference between the 800 and the 100.

IMO, if you only going to spin CDs, go for the 800's. the main difference
comes in the jogwheel. on the 100 its just a simple jogwheel to search
with, on the 800 its a vinyl emulator, which allows you to scratch, etc,
and basically manipulate the track as if it were on vinyl (or close enough
at least).

also the 800 has a hotcue sampler and looping functions, and allows
memory stick access to save loop points, samples, etc.

finally, from the 800 to the 1000 (or its newer version, the 1000Mk2,
which only has a cosmetic difference with its original) are only a few
functions you dont really NEED, basically its an 800 on steroids. but
the jogwheel and main operation is exactly the same, so youll be more
than happy with the 800s and be able to use the 1000s easily because
of it.

check out pioneerprodj.com for technical information and even videos on each of their products. great site.

my recomendation is to go with 800s and that vestax mixer.

Yeah maybe you can burn songs that you steal from other artists. Sounds like a plan from the man.

Cool

i got mine from sapphires, now www.decks.co.uk as they are very reliable, cost £470 i think. they are on sale atm too, www.djstore.co.uk has them £10 cheaper, but i've never previously bought from them and i'm not sure whether vat + delivery is added on top, whereas the £470 from decks is £470

well, i played with both CDJ800 and CDJ1000 (mk2)

i highly recommend the 800.

why ??

CDJ800 has superb beat loop functions, wich CDJ1000 hasn't
CDJ1000 has he wave pattern of your track in the display, kinda like looking @ the grooves in yer 12" ...

other functions are the same, except the 1000 uses some more expensive and 'fancy' stuff to make the design look better.

so, CDJ1000 has the display, CDJ800 has the beat loops. pay an extra 200€ (about £140?) for the wave pattern ?? i don't think so ...

The most noteworthy difference, especially to DJing and mixing, between the 800 and the 1000 is the pitch adjustment steps. In the 800 you can go up or down at 0.05% intervals. Which is very good compared to other CD decks (Like the CDJ100 and the Denons which go in 0.1% increments). The CDJ1000 and the CDJ1000MK2 go in pitch intervals of 0.02, which is a bit more accurate than 0.05%. But is that small difference really worth all that extra money? I didn't think so, you can match up beats perfectly with the 800. Not sure how much better you can really get at 0.02. Sure it also has a wave form, but it's not essential. If you wipe your ass with 100 dollar bills, go for the 1000s, they are a bit more precise when it comes to EXACTLY matching beats. But the 800s are definitely an awesome choice for LOTS cheaper and perfectly capable of playing an awesome set.
