Evil1 My Computer Is Being Super Twattish

Oh my god!!!!

There is something seriously wrong with my comp. It quite literally takes about 10 minutes to open up any sort of program, be it the start menu, or My computer and stuff like that. Once the window is opened, everything works at normal speed. Until i want to use another program or something

So right now i'm running Ad-Aware (that took its time to come up omfg :whip

once i've done that i'm gonna run Spybot.

funny thing is, Task manager says that i'm only using 25% of my RAM and the CPU is hardly even working, which is what is flummoxing me!

Next i'm gonna run Norton Antivirus, as i think that may be whats up

Aye i got a similar problem, it takes ages for my xp to start up and shit. i went thru the task manager and checked all the running processes but they were ok, and emptied my prefetch folder and ran Ad-Aware and norton and got rid of all my temp files but its still slow.

Fk knows wots wrong with it, but i can't be arsed to reformat it.

i don't think so, cos i have no partitions on my HD.
If there was a faulty sector, something on the comp wouldn't work at all, but i do think it has something to with the HD. Gonna defrag it a few times next.

Not partions as in hdd partions splitting the space up but the actual boot partion that exists on the hdd .. if u get what I mean .. anyhow just a guess probably wrong ..
