kk heres the deal...

deca dance on 6th between 2nd and 3rd aves - can find some gems in there but its small and they overprice the recs. they will also try to sell old shit to you as if you were a newbie

eightball on 9th st off of third ave - only good for tribal.

beyond bass - behind on shit but you can find some stuff there as well. its on 3rd between 1st and second ave i think.

satellite records - now heres the store that you should only bother going to. they have everything...a lot of trance too. the store is big and they have a bunch of listening stations. trust me when i say this that this is where you have to go if youre going to shop in nyc.
check it out...www.satelliterecords.com...addy and number should be on there.

there are others but they mainly deal with house and ny crap. sonic groove is good for techno but i dont know exact location. the above though are all close to each other so you can check em all out if you wnated to.

hope it helps

Satellite is right near the corner of bowery and 3rd ave in the East Village. The place is small compared to Eightball....be prepared to search and search...vinyl is in boxes all over the floor...on shelves and on racks on the walls. The place can get pretty jammed on a weekend...it's become quite popular. But they carry a good selection of trance, techno, house...and lots of other stuff. If your claustraphobic...or however you spell it I wouldn't recommend going. But if you've got time to browse and stuff then its def the place! hope that helps!

youre referring to the old store. this one is below houston. its a lot bigger now. best record store in the city. its nowhere near the cramp little place it used to be.

also everything is very organized now. they dont keep old stuff on the floor anymore. everything is in bins now.
